When Asante Kotoko won their 10th MTN FA Cup, captain Frederick Asare could not contain his delight, calling it a "great day."

Even though he did not play in the finals' 2-1 victory over Golden Kicks, Asare was ecstatic to accept his first club trophy.

"This is a remarkable day," Asare stated with a proud smile, "since it has been six years since we last won the FA Cup." For the Porcupine Warriors, who last took home the trophy in the 2021–2022 season, the triumph ended an eight-year drought.

The team's supporters were up in force to encourage them, and Asare thanked them for their support. He stated, "We appreciate our supporters coming." In the years to come, we intend to do something even more unique for them.

With their most recent victory, Kotoko has now won 10 titles, making them the second most successful club in the history of the competition. With 11 trophies, only bitter rivals Hearts of Oak had more FA Cup victories.

Following manager Ruben Amorim's directive for the Argentina international to find a new club, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Tottenham are all monitoring him. However, clubs attempting to sign the 20-year-old are being asked to pay United almost £50 million.

If they are unable to agree on a transfer fee, Arsenal may return for Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, 29, or Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres, 27, or RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, 22.
