Hearts of Oak's assistant coach, Nana Yaw Amankwah, has praised his team for their spirited victory over Heart of Lions and hopes they maintain that momentum in their next games.
After narrowly defeating the Giant Killers 1-0 in an exciting match-day 19 Ghana Premier League opening, the Phobians had a chance for vengeance and redemption Friday night at the Legon Stadium.
The game was extremely tough, with both teams attacking one another and making some risky goal attempts all throughout, but Mawuli Wayo's penalty in the second half was a game-winning play.
The seasoned coach explained why their new guy, Seth Osei, was forced to play a free role in a post-match interview on AFA Sports Channel. He also mentioned that they hope to keep getting better in terms of performance in the future.
"My boys performed admirably. Now that Seth is arriving, we let him go because Match Fitness was not present. He is an excellent player, and we hope that he continues to improve.
"We hope to perform as well as we did in the first round, especially with our away games, but every game is difficult in the second round."
In the upcoming round of games, the Rainbow Club will visit Bechem United at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park as guests.
