Kwame Poku's comeback has delighted Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum, who has called the 27-year-old striker a fantastic player who will give quality to the squad.
With only 10 goals in 12 league games this season, Kotoko has struggled in front of goal, underscoring the need for a new attacking option. The team decided to bring Poku back after recognizing him as a possible alternative.
Poku had been practicing with the team in recent weeks after being a free agent for a while.
The attacker has gained important experience and polished his talents during his time overseas in Algeria and Morocco, according to Ogum.
In just 16 games, Poku scored six goals and made three assists during his initial stint with Kotoko in 2020–21, earning him transfers to USM Alger and Olympique Khouribga. He should return to strengthen the team's offensive capabilities as they strive for victory.
