Following a peaceful election, former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has urged Ghanaians to back the incoming NDC government.
Following a decisive victory over the ruling New Patriotic Party, the opposition National Democratic Congress has been proclaimed the victor of the 2024 election.
After eight years in opposition, John Dramani Mahama is back in the White House.
After the election, Gyan expressed his opinions on social media, advising Ghanaians to adopt a more positive outlook and to help Mahama win.
"Ghana has decided, let's put party politics aside, and if your party has won, focus on government and for us as citizens, we will also support," he stated.
Additionally, we must support the new government and alter our mindset. That's my message: let's applaud the new government.
Gyan, who claimed it was unjust to get engaged in politics, left the Bawumia manifesto team to concentrate on his charitable endeavors before the election.
With 51 goals from 109 appearances, the former Ghanaian striker is the all-time best scorer in the nation's history.
