"Ghana has talent, but youth lack the right grounding." - Eric Bekoe

Eric Bekoe, a former striker for Asante Kotoko, has voiced concerns about Ghana's youth football development, emphasizing that although the nation is endowed with natural potential, many players are being held back by a lack of a solid foundation.

Eric Bekoe emphasized how neglecting the early phases of development causes the cracks to appear at the top. He thinks that when local systems are unable to adequately develop players from the ground up, the national team suffers.

Eric Bekoe also underlined the significance of a thriving domestic league, noting that local players' impressive achievements encourage international players to step up and secure a spot in the national lineup.

We are gifted, but it appears that today's youngsters are not receiving the proper foundation, which is why you typically do not notice the fissures in the earth. Happy FM said, "You would rather see it up there, which it will go up there and to some extent affect the senior national team."

"And usually when you see the league doing well, it shows at the senior level because when a foreign player shows up at the senior level, he knows that Ishmael Addo and Don Bortey are performing, and all those local guys are performing, you will see yourself that you have to work hard before you can earn a call up to the national team," the statement reads.
