In an attempt to ensure goalie Benjamin Asare's long-term commitment to the team, Hearts of Oak Public Relations Officer Opare Addo has announced that the goalie's new contract includes a pay raise.
On Thursday, the 32-year-old goalie agreed to a two-year contract deal that will keep him with the team until 2027.
Three unidentified French clubs and Moroccan powerhouse Raja Casablanca have reportedly expressed interest in him, but he has chosen to stay with the Ghana Premier League's biggest clubs.
"He will receive a raise above his prior salary thanks to the contract extension," Addo told Asempa FM.
After a run of outstanding performances for the Ghanaian national team, Asare's profile has skyrocketed in recent months.
In his first game, a 5-0 victory over Chad, he kept a clean sheet. In the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying tournament, he then recorded another shutout against Madagascar.
Asare has been a vital member of the team and the nation since entering from the Great Olympics in 2024, receiving recognition for his leadership and reliability.
