Nana Kwame Dankwah, general manager of Okwahu United, has asked Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare to join rival powerhouse Asante Kotoko to assist him succeed with the Black Stars, Ghana's senior national side.

Former Asante Kotoko supporters' leader Kwame Dankwah thinks the Black Stars' top goalie would succeed in Kumasi.

After playing well for Ghana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March and keeping clean sheets in both games, Asare's reputation has quickly increased.

The 32-year-old's reputation has skyrocketed since the breakthrough, but the former Okwahu United manager is adamant that Kotoko offers a stronger profile for the goalie to join and keep his place in the Black Stars.

"Benjamin Asare would really benefit from joining Kotoko," he stated. On Accra-based Hot FM, he stated, "Hearts will not aid his advancement."

Hearts of Oak defeated Medeama SC 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, and the former Great Olympics last line of defense was chosen man of the match.
